Imagine a hike up THUNDER mountain in January?

yes, please!

Fortunately sunrise isn’t so hard to catch in Germany in Winter, so we went up to the top of Donnersberg - AKA Thunder mountain to watch the sunrise peek up under the Adlerbogen, or Eagle Arch.

There’s so much history here, from 2000 years of Celtic sculptures and walls to US soldiers shooting off the eagle — and a full restoration of this excellent Nature-Culture exhibit in Dannenfels, Germany.
