1. Watch it 🎥 👉 German Gallows Hike along Germany’s Hidden Westwall
Impressive views
Stunning vineyard hiking
middle of nowhere sculpture that is intriguing…
We hiked this in April and it was absolutely fantastic. The blooming canola oil fields, the paragliders and scents of lilac made it very nice.
This day hike is accessible year round and located in Germany 1.5 hours from Frankfurt and very close to Luxembourg. It is part of my “Westwall series” exploring the dark side of history.
Watch it here: Konz Gallows Hike.
2. Hut to Hut Hiking in Iceland: Women’s Only
There’s been a wonderful growth in women’s only multiday hiking trips like this one from 57 Hours. If you want to test the hiking in Iceland with a 4 day trip, you can book a short 4 day Laugavegur Trail.
This trail is popular, but limited by hut space available as there are no hotels or inns.
The black sand deserts, hidden waterfalls and other-wordly scenery is hard to beat.
3. Culture Corner
The Konz Germany WWII bunker museum is a wonderful glimpse into the history of the local villagers, food, wine and how average people had to deal with the realities of war. They are open 2 times per month on every other Sunday.
4. Hiking News
