Get Closer to Nature Intro

It's time to get closer to Nature.

Welcome Back after a long summer of research!  First here’s your free Dolomites packing list if you missed the last email.

❓I sent you some details about Nature travel in Europe, but I’m not sure if I’ve properly introduced myself or explained why I do what I do:

My family and I moved to USAG Baumholder, Germany in 2015 and have really enjoyed the travel opportunities here but noticed that everything is ALL ABOUT the cities.

😿 And…they all start to look the same after a while.  Old town, bad jewelry, traffic, crowds…

After growing up in the Idaho mountains, Nature has a special place to help me connect to what really counts.

In 2020, my daughter asked me “what do you do about climate change?” and I had no answer beyond useless recycling.

💥The collision of Nature and Culture is at the heart of this project to help others discover Europe’s hidden hiking trails and beaches.

So, I started with creating Nature travel guides to help other travel “nerds” plan their dream vacations outside the city that are responsible and sustainable. Specifically, I wanted to help Americans in Germany live their best lives here and reconnect to things like hiking, snorkeling, fishing, & sailing but with the abundance of hella good food and wine that Europe has to offer and minimize the travel impact by focusing on travel by foot outside places that suffer from overtourism.

It’s not about spartan backpacking, it’s about a comfortable adventure that you can even share with your kids.

As I talked to more and more people, I realized that what people really want (and need) is local and practical information. They’re searching for information about:

But now that you’re here, I hope you’re enjoying all the travel opportunities with family & friends!

CTP is about three simple concepts:

1. Summer Travel to the Mountains or Sea in Europe - My goal is to be the #1 online resource for the best hidden beaches and hiking trails in Europe. Your active travel to the Alps, Dolomites or Mediterranean that includes good food is stuff memories are made.  You’ve probably noticed I’ve already created a TON of summer hiking content in the Dolomites and beyond for you.

2. Germany Day Hikes - Weekends, holidays or even middle of the week mini breaks from the stress of work or your house can always be cured by a hike with this travel inspiration all over Germany.  Mental health is EVERYTHING and Nature is a tried and true healer.

3. The Best Gear to Help You Get Closer to Nature - Being overseas can be emotional. After 5 years as a physical therapist in Baumholder I noticed a trend - people that have something to look forward to have a purpose. Sometimes you’re missing family and friends and you get stuck in the house or you forget to take care of yourself.  I review TOTALLY functional stuff that will help you get out of your head and into your body and closer to Nature.

⛔If you want to learn about museums, you should just unsubscribe now.  However, if there are any historical or cultural exhibitions along the trails or beaches I do my best to do in-depth research as it’s just totally interesting like the opening times of all the Castles on the Rhine in one mobile friendly spreadsheet.

Bonus: 4th.  We do some really cool hyper glamorous hiking photography only for the ladies or people interested in wearing dresses on a mountaintop or by the sea.  Check it out at Goddesslens.com.

Honestly, I’m a hyper tomboy and need help embracing my feminine side so I went all in with 15 ft long satin dress photography. It’s certainly a fun experience!

So with that said, stay tuned for more videos, blog posts, and content that will truly bring value to you and your family while living in Germany and traveling in Nature.

If you have any questions, just hit “reply” and I’ll do my best to personally reach back to you!
