Big REI Sale + Winter Hiking Trip Report
REI Sale + Non Summer European Multi day hike
Hello Outdoor lover,
FirstIf you love REI they are having a 10 day sale now with awesome discounts up to 30%, perfect for Christmas until the 21st of November.SecondThe photo above i took with my iphone on the Rota Vicentina in late November last year. It's really like that...Speaking of Christmas and winter - often people don't know where to go for multi-day hiking trips as the mountains aren't so fun for hiking now. But the wild Atlantic coast of Portugal should definitely be on your bucket list for Nature adventures with good food. The Alentejo coast is perfect for the shoulder seasons of Sept-Dec and March-May.Summer is too hot, but it's a fantastic Spring Break, Thanksgiving or winter hiking trip.
It’s a total step back in time to walk on an oceanside cliff and see real fisherman dressed in plaid with long beards perched in impossible, death defying places.
Go see Lisbon - and when you need a break from the awesome craziness…it’s a 2.5 hour bus ride to the start of the 4 day hike in Porto Covo.
But, it’s a lot to plan. Each day you walk 4-6 hours and the luggage transport will deliver your luggage to the next hotel (or you can carry your own stuff). I met an accountant from Chicago last year who carried his own diet coke from America the entire trip, because "the european stuff doesn't taste right". I think the Portuguese wine tastes right and the seafood is inexpensive and soooooo good along the trail.

I’ve also created a mobile friendly trip planner for you to take on the Fisherman’s Trail trip in Portugal to keep all your dates, bookings, bus times, etc straight directly on your phone.
It’s like hut to hut hiking, but hotel to hotel or hostel to hostel or farm stay to farm stay.
