Rifugio Fodara Vedla: A Perfect Destination for Your Next Family Adventure

Discover the beauty of Rifugio Fodara Vedla in this unexpected photoshoot. Perfect for families, this outdoor adventure will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

Today is Feb 23, 2023,

Hello Outdoor lovers!

Don't you always hate it when people say, don't share the trails online because we don't want other people to find it and it gets crowded?

Well, I feel that way about Rifugio Fodara Vedla. So I'm going to go against my own bias and share my absolute favorite rifugio in the Dolomites.

It's not famous like Lagazuoi or Nuvolau...but it's got something special going on and we did a very strange photoshoot there while backpacking the Alta Via 1. Yes, I lugged 5 lbs of satin in my pack just to do this.

Tips for a memorable photoshoot in the Dolomites?

  1. Put your camera in RAW mode. Whoops on my part. It was my first time using anything other than an iphone.

2. Stay in amazing huts overnight to get away from crowds.

3. Bring along something bright red to stand out against the green.

4. Feed your models first.

Have a great weekend!

Fun fact??!?!?!

Rifugio Fodara Vedla is known for its stunning panoramic views of the Dolomites, which have earned it the nickname "The Balcony of the Dolomites." In fact, it's said that on a clear day, you can see up to seven different mountain ranges from the refuge!

It's likely going to be difficult to book the Alta Via 1 at this point, but there are other potentially even better trails nearby that aren't as crowded.

Until next time, Adventures Await!
